Getting Started

I spent the better part of the yesterday researching on the choices for putting up a blog.  Essentially, it boiled down to a choice between blogger or Wordpress.  I’ve read so many good things about Wordpress so I thought that this should be the way to go.  At first I thought I could set up a blogger account then use Wordpress together with it.  Well, I was mistaken.  I finally found the blogsome site, registered and set up an account.  I tried to change some settings like the date stamp.  It seems a lot more complicated than blogger.  I guess I could eventually figure out how to do it but I’d rather spend the time writing.  So for now, I’m going to use blogger.

The blogger plug in for word seems to be a good idea.  So I downloaded and installed the plugin.  I could not get it to work last night so I just did a cut and paste job using blogger’s editor.  I ran an update on office this morning and now the plug in works!

First Post

After almost a month of blog hopping, I finally decided to jump in and create my own blog. I've hopped through a lot of different types of blogs and realize that each individual blogger has his own reasons for creating his blog. Some people do it for fun. Some people do it because they love to write. And some people do it to share their interests to similarly like-minded people. So, why am I doing this? At this point, I'm still not sure. But it seems to be a good way of letting friends and family know about what’s going on in our lives here in Taiwan. In this blog, I aim to write about my two daughters, Maita and Erika.
